TEHRAN, May 11 (Xinhua) -- The Football Federation of Iran prefers to resume soccer super league competitions in the country suspended late February over COVID-19 outbreak, Tehran Times daily reported on Monday.
Fariborz Mahmoudzadeh, head of the Transfer Committee of the Iran Football League Organization, said that the priority for the top official of the Iranian federation is to complete the super league season, and not to leave it without determining the champions and relegated teams.
"In Iranian football also everyone's priority is the health and safety of the players and football staff," he said, adding that he super league was suspended by the order of Iran's authorities, and that it should restart with their order as well.
On Saturday, it was announced here that Iran Football League Organization plans to test players and staff on a regular basis for the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Based on the plan, all the players, coaches, and team members should be tested for coronavirus constantly.
