ULAN BATOR, July 15 (Xinhua) -- A total of 428 Mongolian nationals were returned home from coronavirus-hit countries on two chartered flights on Wednesday, according to the country's State Emergency Commission (SEC).
Among the recently repatriated are pregnant women, the elderly, children, sick people, and those with financial and other problems, the SEC said, adding that the group will be isolated at designated facilities for 21 days.
The passengers were flown to the South Korean capital of Seoul from five different countries, namely the United States, Singapore, Thailand, Brazil and Argentina, before boarding the flights to Mongolia, the SEC said.
Since its COVID-19 outbreak, Mongolia has evacuated around 13,000 nationals on chartered flights, buses or trains from different parts of the world, according to the commission.
The Asian country has confirmed 261 COVID-19 cases so far, with no local transmissions or deaths.
